NetEngine 5000E cluster router (NE5000E) is a super core router to be used in Internet backbone nodes, MAN core nodes, Data Center interconnect nodes and Internet hosting nodes. NE5000E advanced backplane architecture and distributed, scalable software platform that provides massive switching capacity and ultra high forwarding performance, fully meet the future Internet bandwidth performance, service quality, and operational capacity needs.

Multiple Cluster Pattern
NE5000E adopts advanced non-blocking switching network architecture; single port bidirectional capacity can reach to 1.28T. future port capacity can be expanded smoothly from 1.28T to 80T, support 40Gbps capacity per slot, forwarding capacity of up 1600Mpps; NE5000E including variety of cluster models, such as back to back clusters, 2 +4 cluster, 2 +8 cluster, etc., up to 16 +64 cluster system.
Flexible Choice As Required
NE5000E simultaneously support 40G white light interface and colorama interface. Huawei NE5000E integrate the pioneering advantages of 40G IP and optical technology, support white / OTN whole scene 40G solution with the ability to 40G colorama.
Carrier-Class Reliability
For device-level protection, NE5000E has a passive backplane, all key parts support hot-swappable, hot-pluggable and hot-backup. NE5000E supports non-stop routing (NSR) for control and data plane. NE5000E provides hot-patching and comprehensive In-Service Software Upgrade (ISSU) technology for smooth upgrade of the software. As a result, NE5000E system exceeds 99.999% carrier-class reliability.
